Makes me wonder if the petition going around was a factor in his release.
Per KCChiefs.com:
There are a number of routes that the Chiefs could have taken today involving embattled RB Larry Johnson today. A few of these decisions could have drawn on for weeks. Instead, the Chiefs decided to make a clean cut with Johnson. Johnson will now go to the waiver wire where any team can claim him and assume his current contract. If he clears waivers, Johnson will become a free agent.
My guess is that LJ will clear waivers and become a free agent, I don't see many teams willing to take a chance on a RB that is closing in on 30, is averaging a little over 2 yards per carry and has had all of the off field issues that he has. Not to mention, they are going to have to claim that over-inflated salary that King Carl gave him.
Guess whos back, back again. NOT LJ.
